 Il 2 gennaio 1927 la città di Vercelli venne elevata a capoluogo di Provincia, riappropriandosi di un riconoscimento tanto ambito dalla popolazione locale.Da allora, ovviamente, molto è cambiato: gli avvenimenti storici, sociali e culturali che si sono succeduti hanno mutato il volto del mondo ma ancora oggi il territorio vercellese e la sua gente conservano ricchezze e potenzialità che stupiscono e affascinano... a 360°. L'itinerario da nord a sud offre splendidi paesaggi naturali e gioielli da scoprire, dedicati a chi ama uscire dall'ordinario per immergersi in nuove realtà, originali, diverse dal solito; a chi ancora non conosce la genialità dei protagonisti della pittura vercellese e valsesiana e a chi si sofferma a parlare con la gente per conoscere la storia del luogo che sta visitando o l'origine del cibo che sta gustando; a chi si lascia rapire dal fascino misterioso delle storiche abbazie medievali o delle piccole pievi e a chi vuole lasciarsi alle spalle, per qualche ora, il caos e lo stress per perdersi in boschi di pianura o montagna: arte, storia, cultura, musei ed ecomusei, natura, parchi, percorsi devozionali, chiese e abbazie, sport tranquilli e sport estremi, ruralità, artigianato, tradizione, enogastronomia di qualità... un "giro" nel vercellese, in Valsesia o nella "Bassa", si rivelerà curioso e divertente. Celebrando l'80° anniversario della sua istituzione, la Provincia di Vercelli pubblica questo volume fotografico per rappresentarne il territorio e quelle ricchezze che ne costituiscono vanto, che ancora meravigliano chi vi abita da tempo e che riescono a conquistare l'ospite più distratto e frettoloso.  On January 2, 1971 the city of Vercelli became the chief town of the Province, regaining possession of a title sought-after by the local population.From then on, obviously, a lot has changed: the historical, social and cultural occurrences that have followed have changed the world, but stili today the Vercelli territory and its people preserve the richness and potentiality that surprises and fascinates... 360 degrees. The proposed itinerary offers splendid natural landscapes and gems to be discovered, dedicated to those that wish to be out of the ordinary, to immerge into new, originai and different scenarios; to those that still don't know the geniality of the artists the Vercelli and Valsesian paintings and to those that take time to talk to the "locals" in order to get to know the history of the places to visit or the origins of traditional food; to those that are enraptured by the mysterious fascination of the historic medieval abbeys or small parishes and to those that want to leave behind, for a few hours, the hustle and bustle and stress of everyday life in order to lose themselves in forests or mountains: art, history, culture, museums and eco-museums, nature, parks, route of devotion, churches and abbeys, soft sports and extreme sports, rural life, handicrafts, tradition and quality food and wine... visit of the Vercelli region, in Valsesia or in the "Bassa" (Lower area), will turn out to be curious and fun.
